40 week Pregnant Runs and Complete Marathon Gives Birth Same Day
Amber Miller, 27, completed all 26 miles of the Chicago marathon Sunday, and then gave birth to a healthy baby girl about seven hours later. She was 38 weeks and five days pregnant. And if you're thinking Miller delivered a small baby, think again. Baby June Audra weighed in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces. "The race was definitely easier than labor," Miller said at a news conference at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Ill., on Monday morning, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Sunday's marathon was Miller's eighth, and the second one she has run while pregnant. She completed a marathon when she was 17-weeks pregnant with her first child. Miller told reporters she had signed up for the race in February before she knew she was pregnant. As the date of the marathon approached, she felt she could handle it and her doctor gave her the go-ahead to run half and walk half. She was also prepared not to finish. 22 Weeks Pregnant with Twins - The Workout

Since I'm a pre- and post-natal certified personal trainer, a Beachbody coach, and the Fitness Coordinator for Furman University, people keep asking me if I'm working out and what my workouts are like. Here is a video to satisfy your curiosity! Keep in mind that I was already fit before becoming pregnant and had been working out regularly 5-6 days per week at a high intensity for about an hour each day. Now that I'm pregnant, I have toned that down to about 4-5 days a week for 30-45 minutes at a moderate intensity. This has been approved by my doctors and will be reevaluated at 28 weeks. But for now, I am good to go! DISCLAIMER This is NOT a recommendation of how you, or anyone you know, should workout while pregnant or otherwise. This is a video of my 10 week ultrasound done by Dr. Philip Fleming, out of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. At about 2 minutes, the doctor has me cough and I wake the baby up and it throws it's first temper tantrum in utero! Super cute! Be sure to leave comments!
